Hey everyone. I'm still here! Been busy – moved up the block, teaching alot of lessons, playing at private parties, visiting my family in Seattle, chasing my dog around the apartment, and practicing new music and new instruments for new shows. Got alot going on for the spring, so here's the skinny – hope to see most of you at these events!
I'll be at Il Porto again for most Fridays and Saturdays in April and the first weekend in May. It's at 37 Washington Ave btwn Flushing and Park in the Fort Green neighborhood of Brooklyn. Come enjoy some amazing pizza and good jazz! I'll be playing instrumental duo with some wonderful upright bassists, including Kevin Thomas, Adam Kabak, and Daniel Foose.
May 11th I'll be performing again at Two Boots in Brooklyn with Double Down, NYC's awesomest swing band. For those of you who haven't seen us, we do alot of classics by the likes of Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin; hip swing arrangements of pop songs; and some great original songs. We'll be playing 10pm – midnight. Two Boots is at 514 2nd st near 7th ave in Park Slope. Amazing food, drinks, and an all-around good time.
All of these shows are ALL-AGES and family-friendly. And there's no cover charge.
Double Down will also be at Swing 46 on April 20th and May 25th. 9:30 – 1am, $15 cover. That includes a dance lesson at 9pm! And we'll be at Ella Lounge on May 8th from 9pm – midnight. For the parents: While Ella Lounge is 21 and over, Swing 46 does allow children with family dinner reservations.
And… I'm going to be playing guitar on a new Off-Broadway show called Italian Bred! It's a one woman show about her journey growing up in an Italian family on Staten Island. She'll be hilariously impersonating all of her relatives and friends, and there will be some celebrity guest appearances, starting with Vincent Pastore of Sopranos fame on opening night! That’s Tuesday, April 30th at 7pm. Then every Tuesday through June, and hopefully longer! Click here for more info and to purchase tickets! At St. Luke's Theater, 308 W. 46th st btwn 8th and 9th aves. While there's no age limit to attend this show, there's some language/material that may be inappropriate for younger folk… just a heads up!
As you can see, I've been quite busy! Don't think that the BRADEN solo project is out of the picture! There's still some stuff in the works – I smell some grunge covers – and a possible solo acoustic record – you'll be the first to know. All this depends on how busy I am with other projects – but you can probably expect a new rock project for the summer… we'll see!
As usual, if you haven't already, please buy my album at www.bradenmusic.bandcamp.com! For the time being, I'm offering it at whatever price you think it's worth. I just want all of you to listen to my music!
See you at the show!
