Guitar Lessons

Institutions Braden has taught lessons at:

Plateau Music
Bellevue Community College
King's Music in Brooklyn
Millenium Highschool
New School University
Berkeley Carroll School

Braden is also a founding member of the Brooklyn Music Teachers Cooperative based in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Braden can teach any style of guitar - including, but not limited to: rock, jazz, punk, blues, classical, country, pop, funk, motown, folk, metal, etc... Plus, Braden also offers Electric Bass lessons.

Braden's teaching methods depend on the age of his students. With older guitar students (high-school and up), Braden strongly encourages flexibility, tailoring the lesson to fit the student’s needs and musical tastes. With younger students, Braden structures his lessons in a way that gets children excited about the guitar, giving them a foundation for either later general musical enrichment, or more advanced studies as they mature.

Here's some testimonials from current students of Braden's.

Steve Deptula - Park Slope, Brooklyn

"My son Erik at 8 years old started guitar lessons with Braden in January of 2005 and couldn't play a note. Today he is a rock guitar wizard playing Green Day, Led Zep, Hendrix and the like. I highly recommend Braden."

Betty Liebler - Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

"Braden has been a real inspiration and support for my daughter - he has nurtured a broad range of skills, encouraged her to try new things, and talked with her about music-related subjects (such as bands/musicians, public schools with good music programs, websites, etc.). He has been very accessible and flexible for me, as a mother - willing to reschedule and work on specific challenges we might request (such as how to audition for public schools). I have recommended him many times and continue to do so enthusiastically."

Eliza Liebler - 8th grade - Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

"I started taking guitar in 4th grade so its been 4 years with him, he's made the idea of music so much more fun for me than my piano teacher ever did. I get to pick the songs I want to do and he shows me new techniques on how to play each song or how to improvise. Whenever I get to a hard part, he makes me go through it a million times till I get it right. When I'm at home I can just put down the guitar if I can't get the hard part because I know when I get back to class Braden can teach me that part again until I get it right. He also likes to challenge me because he knows that I can handle it even if I don't think I can. And that's been the best part because having him push me into harder and more difficult situations is something I really need."

Braden is currently offering lessons at your home in the boroughs of Brooklyn and Manhattan. Braden also teaches at his studio in Park Slope.
