Guitar LessonsBraden has been teaching guitar almost as long as he's been playing guitar. Only a few years after picking up the instrument, while still in his teens, he was teaching a few family friends' children. After graduating from high school, Braden proceeded to teach his next two successors in his high school jazz band. Before moving to New York, Braden was teaching over 20 students per week at his home in Seattle, WA, and at Plateau Music in Issaquah, WA. Once he settled in Brooklyn, Braden quickly began teaching students at home, at King's Music in Mill Basin, through Wingspan Arts, and also at his alma-matter, New School University. Currently, Braden is a faculty guitar instructor at the Berkeley Carroll School in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Braden can teach any style of guitar - including, but not limited to: rock, jazz, punk, blues, classical, country, pop, funk, motown, folk, metal, etc... Plus, Braden also offers Electric Bass lessons. Braden's teaching methods depend on the age of his students. With older guitar students (high-school and up), Braden strongly encourages flexibility, tailoring the lesson to fit the student’s needs and musical tastes. With younger students, Braden structures his lessons in a way that gets children excited about the guitar, giving them a foundation for more either general musical enrichment, or more advanced studies as they mature. While lessons at Braden's Park Slope studio will be the least expensive, he also does housecalls to any neighborhood for an extra travel fee. BrooklynTravel fees to your home in Brooklyn are very reasonable, as long as you live near a convienent train line. Contact Braden with your location for more information on price. ManhattanTravel fees to Manhattan are also reasonable, but will increase for students further uptown. Again, contact Braden for rates to your location. Queens, Staten Island, The Bronx, and New JerseyCurrently, Braden is not accepting housecalls to these areas. Besides, most of Braden's students who have lived in these areas chose to come to his studio. Braden is conviently located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, closest to the R and M trains at Union Street, which can be easily reached by transferring from the 2,3,4,5,Q,B,D, and N trains at the Atlantic/Pacific station in downtwon Brooklyn. Braden is also within walking distance of the Q and B trains at 7th ave, the F at either 4th ave or 7th ave, and the 2 and 3 at Bergen street.
