Guitar Lessons

Congratulations to students Eliza Liebler and Jamie Mace for being accepted into the music program at the prestigious Laguardia High School of Performing Arts!

Institutions Braden has taught lessons at:

Plateau Music
Bellevue Community College
King's Music in Brooklyn
Millenium Highschool
New School University
Berkeley Carroll School

Braden can teach any style of guitar - including, but not limited to: rock, jazz, punk, blues, classical, country, pop, funk, motown, folk, metal, etc... Plus, Braden also offers Electric Bass lessons.

Braden's teaching methods depend on the age of his students. With older guitar students (high-school and up), Braden strongly encourages flexibility, tailoring the lesson to fit the student’s needs and musical tastes. With younger students, Braden structures his lessons in a way that gets children excited about the guitar, giving them a foundation for either later general musical enrichment, or more advanced studies as they mature.

Here's some testimonials from current students of Braden's.

Steve Deptula - Park Slope, Brooklyn

"My son Erik at 8 years old started guitar lessons with Braden in January of 2005 and couldn't play a note. Today he is a rock guitar wizard playing Green Day, Led Zep, Hendrix and the like. I highly recommend Braden."

Cynthia Bettis - Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn

"I have been taking lessons from Braden for over 5 years. I started with no guitar background and am now writing and recording my own songs and performing live at local open mics in NYC. This is a huge accomplishment for me given that I have a very demanding work schedule and many social obligations! This is because Braden has been so accommodating to my schedule and helps me set attainable goals each week that are specific to my musical endeavors so that I don't waste any time. He is always completely professional, but what I really appreciate about Braden is his fun personality and laid-back teaching approach, so I never feel stressed out or bored. In addition I have seen Braden play at multiple gigs around NYC and am inspired to be working with a truly gifted working musician."

Betty Liebler - Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

"Braden has been a real inspiration and support for my daughter - he has nurtured a broad range of skills, encouraged her to try new things, and talked with her about music-related subjects (such as bands/musicians, public schools with good music programs, websites, etc.). He has been very accessible and flexible for me, as a mother - willing to reschedule and work on specific challenges we might request (such as how to audition for public schools). I have recommended him many times and continue to do so enthusiastically."

Eliza Liebler - 8th grade - Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

"I started taking guitar in 4th grade so its been 4 years with him, he's made the idea of music so much more fun for me than my piano teacher ever did. I get to pick the songs I want to do and he shows me new techniques on how to play each song or how to improvise. Whenever I get to a hard part, he makes me go through it a million times till I get it right. When I'm at home I can just put down the guitar if I can't get the hard part because I know when I get back to class Braden can teach me that part again until I get it right. He also likes to challenge me because he knows that I can handle it even if I don't think I can. And that's been the best part because having him push me into harder and more difficult situations is something I really need."

Braden is currently offering lessons at his studio in Kensington, Brooklyn, near the F, G, Q, and B trains, or at your home in some areas of Brooklyn, and online via-Skype.
